Funny story: I met Shelbie through Kelsey, and at the end of our lunch meeting, when Shelbie left, Kelsey asked me, “What do you think?” And I said, “It’s kind of like my first meeting with Heidi. She was hard to read.” (Poker Faces!) And Kelsey said, “Oh, well, you do know they are marrying brothers, right?” And I said, “Huh?” And she said, “Heidi is marrying Eric, and Shelbie is marrying Eric’s brother, Brian.” And I said, “OH!” There’s nothing like finding out you’ll be photographing weddings within the same family in the same summer. Totally cool, right?
So, this was actually Kelsey’s wedding and I was second-shooting with her. By the time this wedding came around, Kelsey was already married and had hung out with me at Heidi’s wedding, and then Rachelle’s wedding (in a small-town kind of way, we were all interlinked in some way), so I was eager and excited to work with her again before she moved to a land far, far away (sob!). Shelbie is one of her very closest friends, so I knew the day was special for her in many ways — for both of them!
Having met many of the Elzas family members at the first Elzas wedding, I felt relaxed and welcomed, and that was the best because the day kicked off beautifully and was amazing all the way through.
It was such a great day, and so much fun to shoot alongside Kelsey. Of course, being me, I took plenty of pictures of Kelsey in action -
Finally, me and Kelsey, taken by the oh so awesome Heidi Elzas. Thank you, Heidi!
What a day, what a day… Wishing you both a forever-long marriage full of love, laughter, and joy!
